Meet Miss Betty Boop on Feature Friday

As part of our Feminine Sensual Fridays, I dedicate two Fridays each month to one of the beautiful, sensational, vibrant women in our program. As part of our journey we each select an alter ego, a Burlesque name, to inspire the changes we wish to unleash in our lives. Today you meet Miss Betty Boop!

Who is Betty Boop?

Betty Boop from Transformational BurlesqueIn her early 40’s, Betty Boop is a woman of confidence, artistic talent and a dedication to her family.  She is the mom of three amazing boys:  Josh 16, Joel 13 & Jacob 9.   Their newest addition to their family this past summer, Jasper, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, keeps her busy and entertained.  There’s nothing like a cuddle with Jasper to bring a smile to her face.

Betty Boop is now lucky enough to be a SAHM – Stay at Home Mom, but  has worked as a secretary and receptionist in the past.

When we asked Betty Boop what she loves best about her life, she shared, “I love that I am comfortable with who I am and that only I am responsible to make my life the best life possible!”  She is also a talented and artistic woman who sings, plays guitar and creates stunning handmade cards that are works of art in and of themselves.

Her best asset is her beautiful big green eyes!

An Interesting Twist

“I spent many years in my late teens/early twenties volunteering with Catholic nuns in Sierra Leone and Bolivia.  I almost became a nun!  Also, I don’t think many people know I was actually born in Africa (Zimbabwe) and lived there until I was 7.  ”

Fearless and Free

One question we often ask our participants is, “if you could do any one thing in life, without fear holding you back, what would it be?”     Betty Boop  has done a lot of travelling but she’s always wanted to backpack around the world and never did.  The fear of going by herself held her back.  “It wouldn’t now!”, she claims confidently.

Power of Class

As part of the Transformational Burlesque program the women identify qualities within themselves that they wish to unleash in order to live a more vibrant, fulfilling life!  The women can choose whether or not to share these with the other women in a safe and supportive environment.

When we asked Betty Boop what she loves about the class she had this to say, ” The strength & support from an amazing group of woman who are all searching for a similar path – the path to feeling more confident, more sexy, more empowered and more positive.”

Oh la la…the Sensual Side

In addition to unleashing characteristics such as self-confidence, self-love and self-value, the women are also working on opening up their sensual sides, to experience the full range of feminine energies. Over time, women can cover their femininity with protective layers until its hidden deep within…being a mom, a career woman, an athlete, experiencing a negative life event or demands on our time can all take a toll pushing some of our sensual elements to the back burner. So, we asked Betty Boop  about a few things she enjoys that elicits a sensual feeling.  Here’s what she had to say:

What is your favourite song:  Recent – Robin Thicke Blurred Lines – always make me smile and want to dance! All-time favourite would be Africa by Toto – brings back so many incredible memories of my African life!

What colour makes you feel sensual/happy/calm ?  Aquamarine – it always makes me feel like I’m by the beach/ocean and is so relaxing.

What food makes your sensual tastebuds tingle? Love seafood, particularly raw oysters on the half-shell and lobster!

What’s you favourite fabric to feel on your skin?  I’m a down-to-earth cotton girl!

What scent makes you melt?  My current fave is Victoria’s Secret body spray “Amber Romance”.

Please feel free to leave Miss Betty Boop a comment below. Since her move to Boston, we have missed her fun and electric energy, but she is always in our hearts and we can’t wait for her to be back in class with us!
